The house is located at an exceptional site that is the ideal starting point for short or daily excursions.
Within thirty minutes by car, you will reach: Lipica, Trieste, Koper, Gorica, Postojna … within one hour, you can reach either the capital Ljubljana or the gem of the Slovenian coast – the town of Piran. In less than two hours, you will be able to enjoy the beauties of Venice, the River Soča, the Lakes Bled and Bohinj or, heading in the opposite direction, a large part of Istria. But this is only the beginning …

If you don’t care for anything else but the peace and quiet, we suggest you simply stay at your vacation home, enjoy yourself and relax in the courtyard, light the barbecue, prepare a dish from locally grown fruit or vegetables, make delicious pasta with herbs… and then rest under the shade in our lovely garden. You can talk to the neighbours and learn how they live or share with them a glass of Teran or home-made brandy.
Slovenia is all about nature, green landscapes and waters; being rivers, lakes or the sea … it is all about vitality, relaxation and, first and foremost, it is time very well spent. In the vicinity, there are several caves famous the world over (Postojna cave, Škocjan cave, Grotta Gigante), historical towns such as Koper and Piran, and a bit further the capital Ljubljana or magical Venice … and much more.
At less than 20 km from the village, you can enjoy the Sistiana beach resort, ride a horse or play golf at Lipica. Pedestrian and bike routes start right from the village. Adrenaline junkies may take pleasure in the beauties of the Soča river– rafting, canyoning, kayaking, parachuting, flying by plane or paragliding… and much more.
With regards to the climate, soil structure and landscape, wine experts consider the Primorska and Karst wine-growing areas to be among the best in the world. However, the superb wine is only one part of the magical puzzle of a bon vivant lifestyle. Lovers of good food and wine will burst with excitement when trying local food, which is traditional and mostly produced from the 0 kilometre.
Every wine lover will find here an exceptional place to discover on of the best Slovenian and Italian wines. You can taste or buy autochthonous Teran, a special sort of a violet-red wine, which used to be consumed as a medicine.
The Valley of Vipava and the Goriška Brda, some of the most prized regions in Slovenia, are not far from the village. At only 10 km from the village, in the neighbouring Italy, lies the Village of Prosecco from which the distinguished sparkling wine originates. The famous dry Slovenian ham (Karst prosciutto) is being produced there, in the Karst region. You will be able to visit several places on the Karst Plateau where this exquisite product is being cured. The vicinity of the Adriatic Sea guarantees that you will enjoy the taste of good fish and other seafood with delicious Rebula or Malvazija.
